Ryan Gaida, the owner and lead inspector of Good Bones Home Inspection, brings a wealth of diverse experience to the world of home inspections. With over two decades of expertise in mechanical engineering, specializing in structural design and machinery systems, Ryan’s background ensures every inspection is both thorough and precise. His career journey has been marked by a dedication to understanding complex systems, making him a reliable expert when evaluating the structural integrity and mechanical components of a property.
Before founding Good Bones Home Inspection, Ryan spent four years managing both long-term and short-term rental properties. This hands-on role provided him with firsthand knowledge of property maintenance, tenant concerns, and the critical aspects that contribute to a well-functioning home. Additionally, his early career in framing and finish carpentry laid the groundwork for his deep appreciation of home construction, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
When he’s not conducting home inspections, Ryan enjoys a busy family life, often serving as a chauffeur for his three children, who are active in sports, dance, and various after-school activities. In his free time, he pursues hands-on hobbies such as remodeling his own home, welding, biking, and boating. These activities reflect his love for craftsmanship, problem-solving, and the great outdoors, all of which contribute to his well-rounded approach to both work and life.
A Unique Blend of Skills
Ryan’s lifelong connection to home construction began in his childhood, accompanying his mother, who managed custom home builds. This early exposure sparked a passion for understanding how homes are built from the ground up. At the age of 15, he joined a framing crew, gaining hands-on experience that extended through his college years. Working alongside seasoned professionals in various trades—including plumbing, electrical, roofing, HVAC, and drywall—Ryan developed a well-rounded perspective on the intricacies of home building.
His professional journey as a mechanical engineer further refined his problem-solving abilities and technical knowledge. Combining these experiences, Ryan approaches each home inspection with a critical eye for detail, identifying potential issues that others might overlook. His personal passion for remodeling and flipping homes adds an additional layer of insight, as he understands not just how homes are built, but how they evolve over time.
